I LOVE BEING A MISSIONARY. SO MUCH. It’s true. It is the greatest

This week was really great. Sister Tapia and I work really well together and it has gone really well this week.

It has been really cool to go from being a Sister Training Leader on my own to working as a Sister Training Leader companionship. We have felt very guided by the Spirit together in working to help our investigators here as well as the sisters in our zone.

The greatest thing Sister Tapia has taught me thus far: When you are lost ask Pizza Hut. Why it has never occurred to me before, I will never know, but it works wonders. Of course they know every road- they deliver every where! Ha- best.

There is a club at the college here that is literally a club of people who are not members of the church that invite the missionaries to hold a YSA family home evening with them every week. I’m still not sure how that started, but it has become a serious miracle pool. Several of the club members have decided to start investigating the church and it is just a wonderful atmosphere. The president of the club has started really progressing in the gospel and we love her so much!

Yesterday, I felt prompted to talk to someone on the 7 at the corner and she was just so excited and said that she’s been looking for a church and really wants to learn more! It was just amazing. You never know who is prepared and who is looking.

On Friday, we met with a woman who lives in our building who had come to English class with her kids once. As we began the lesson, she made it clear that her family is Buddhist and that she wouldn’t really be able to have the gospel of Jesus Christ. But we began to use the principles from How to Begin Teaching and started asking some bolder questions to see where her personal interest is- regardless of her family. The Spirit came in large measure and by the end of the lesson, she had expressed her desire to learn about Jesus Christ and said that we can all start praying hard together so that her family will be willing to allow her to continue. It was a testimony to me that everyone is a child of God and once they get even a small taste of that joy, they will have a desire to continue to have that feeling.

This week as I finished the book of Alma, I was impressed by Helaman in Alma 62:44-45. This was his first chance to rest or more freely choose what he wanted to do after the wars. He choose “again to preach unto the people the word of God…with much power…which did cause them to repent of their sins and to be baptized unto the Lord their God.” His choice was absolutely inspiring to me. Every day as I serve and feel the power of the gospel more in my own life and in the lives of those around me, I am more and more excited to spread the word of God- no matter what the result.
